Community Clothing Closet
Throughout the month of February, special offerings will be collected for the ministry of the Community Clothing Closet, providing clothing and bedding to people in need in our area. We hope to raise more than the monthly $500 rent needed for their ministry space; let's give generously to extend the good work of this community project.
 
2012 Mission Trip 
A team from MHUMC will head for Bad River Reservation, near Ashland in northern Wisconsin, in July.  Projects will be focused on repair and updates for the homes of elderly and disabled people on the reservation.    If you are interested in being part of this service project, please join us for a planning session on Sunday, February 12 at 11:30 a.m.
 
Ash Wednesday Service, February 22, 7 p.m.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the six week season of Lent, giving us time to reflect on the sacrifice Jesus made in offering his life for us - and prepare ourselves for the joy of Easter.  We'll share a Service of Penitence, a time to express sorrow for our sins, and celebrate the joy of God's forgiveness as we share the Sacrament of Communion.  An Imposition of Ashes will be offered at the end of the service, as a sign of repentance for all who wish to receive that.
 
 
Wednesdays of Lent - Supper at 6:15 p.m., Service at 7:00 p.m.
On all the Wednesdays of Lent that follow Ash Wednesday, we'll gather downstairs in Fellowship Hall to share supper, fellowship and an opportunity to explore all the ways spirituality shows up in our everyday lives.   Each week, we'll explore a different aspect of this with a short worship service, a DVD series called Spiritual Literacy, time to reflect and discuss our experience of God's presence in all the days of our lives.
