About Pastor Jacki

Rev. Jacqueline Sharer Robertson, known as Pastor Jacki, has been serving the Mount Horeb UMC congregation since 1999. She shares the parsonage with her husband Byron, also a trained United Methodist pastor, whose ministry has led him into the field of cross-cultural urban education. They keep busy with their three children: Alaina, a vocal-music major at Columbia College in Chicago; Jasmyne, who is studying art at the Art Institute of Chicago; and Caleb, a fifth grader in the Mt. Horeb School District.

Pastor Jacki’s undergraduate degree was in Music Theatre (Illinois Wesleyan University), and her love for the arts finds expression in her ministry. Prior to coming to Mt. Horeb, Jacki served the Wilmot United Methodist Church, as her first appointment after seminary. She also served the First United Methodist Church of Chicago: The Chicago Temple as director of Christian Education, then on the pastoral staff while completing her theological education at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, IL.

Pastor Jacki struggles with -- yet immensely enjoys! -- the challenges of being a mom, wife, and full time pastor.
