Building Wholeness with the Hands of Christ in Mount Horeb and Madison

Finance

Mission Statement
To propose, raise, manage, and distribute the resources of the congregation to support and strengthen the mission and ministry of the church.

Role in the Life of the Church
All funding requests for inclusion in the annual church budget are to be submitted to the Finance Committee.  The Committee on Finance then compiles annually a complete budget for the church.  This budget is submitted to the
Church Council for review and adoption, and to the congregation for endorsement.

Objectives
To develop and implement plans that will raise sufficient income to meet the budget adopted by the Church Council.  The Committee on Finance shall administer the funds, according to instructions from the Church Council.

The Committee shall carry out the Church’s Council’s directions in guiding the Treasurer and Fiancial Secretary.  The Committee’s duties are outlined in Section VI of the Book of Discipline.  The annual audit is to be conducted and reported to the Charge Conference.

Structure
The Finance Committee consists of the Chairperson, the Pastor or representative, a Lay Member of the Annual Conference, the Chairperson of the
Church Council, a representative of the Trustees, the Chairperson of the Stewardship Committee, the Financial Secretary, the Treasurer, and any other members as the Charge Conference may determine. Paid employees shall be members without vote.

Current Needs
Assistance in developing stewardship campaigns to increase the percentage of members pledging to support the missions and ministry of the church.
