Church Council

 
Mission Statement
The Church Council provides for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness and resources in the local church.  It also functions as the administrative agency of the church.

Role In The Life Of The Church
It is the responsibility of the church council to review membership of the local church, fill interim vacancies occurring among the committee members between
charge conferences, establish and approve the annual budget recommended by the finance committee, ensure adequate provision for the financial needs of the church, approve the salaries for staff members as presented by the Staff Parish Relations Committee, review the recommendation of the SPRC related to provisions for adequate housing for the pastor and report to the charge conference for approval.

Objectives
-Review reports from the various committees of the church and move on motions presented.
-Meet regularly to accomplish the administrative business of the church.
-Represent the congregation as the business entity of the church.
-Attention should be given to the individual needs of the church families related to education, worship, Christian formation, membership care, small groups and stewardship.

Structure
The membership of the church council consists of chairperson of the
church council, recording secretary, the lay leader, the chair of the SPRC, the chair of the finance committee, the chair of the trustees, the church treasurer, the lay member to annual conference, the chair of the stewardship committee, the chair of the communications committee, the Prayer Committee chair,  the president of UMW, members-at-large representing men’s group, youth group, worship committee, Christian education committee, and the pastor.
